Ryan W. and Gustavo S. are hosting a one-day trip to the Luray Caverns and returning by taking the Skyline Drive that overlooks scenic views of Shenandoah National Park during peak foliage.

We will depart from the Triangle Club at 9am on Sunday, Oct. 16. Send Ryan $22 electronically by Oct. 13. We are still looking for more drivers. Contact Gustavo at [email protected] if you’d like to volunteer to drive.

Your 2022 DC Area Delegates, Dominic C and Steven M, will be holding a feedback meeting on September 19th at 6pm to discuss the following topics to take back to the GSC. All are welcome to attend and participate. Zoom details to follow.

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee has made a request to share stories of success/failure related to DEI, inquiring what resources would be helpful related to DEI, share recorded qualifications/stories from individuals of marginalized experience, and requesting groups/meetings willing to do an identity-based group inventory.

    GSR/MEETING ACTION ITEMS:
    ● Send inclusivity statements that are being used in your meeting.
    ● Does your meeting need for support and/or assistance creating inclusivity statements?
    ● Does your meeting have stories of success/failure related to DEI?
    ● What resources would be helpful related to DEI?
    ● Recorded qualifications/stories from individuals of marginalized experience. (i.e., Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Trans/Non-Binary/Genderqueer, People with Disability, Women, etc.)

Mark H is organizing an End of Summer Tubing event in Harper’s Ferry, WV. $45 per person. September 11, 2022, noon. Leaving DC at 10:30 am that morning. Contact Mark for payment and waiver. We’ll also need to coordinate rides. Help is needed with that.

CMA Saturday Solutions is in need of a new GSR. We are holding elections Sat, July 30 2022. Clean time requirement is 1 year which can be waived. Duties are to give announcements at the meeting and attend DC CMA Intergroup once a month.

For those of you attending the kayaking event, please arrive early at Key Bridge Boathouse. 3500 Water St NW. Parking is a wild card, especially with this many attendees, so plan ahead.

Wear sunscreen (or a hat) if needed, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet. You won’t be in the water, but you might get splashed a bit.

CMA Late Night: Pot Luck is an open meeting. We meet on Tuesday nights at 10pm-11pm via Zoom with rotating topics each week: one week we do steps, one week we do literature, one week we do meditation, and one week we do celebration/speaker.
